Assistant Director of Student Business Services

Chapman University, located in sunny Southern California, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated candidate to serve as Assistant Director of Student Business Services.  Responsibilities include management of student billing functions and staff, and collection of all tuition and fees to students and third parties.  The Assistant Director also ensures that appropriate policies and procedures are in place, and documentation is retained to maintain compliance with university policies and federal regulations.  The university uses the Oracle Peoplesoft Campus Solutions system as its student system database, and ECSI for its institutional and Perkins Loan billing services. Ideal candidate will have two or more years of progressive managerial experience, preferably in a student financial services setting, and at least two years supervisory experience. 

Candidates should have a thorough knowledge of federal financial aid regulations, a strong knowledge of accounting principles, a proven track record in management, as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.  The successful candidate must have the ability and flexibility to work with a wide variety of constituents in a diverse community.  The successful candidate must have the ability to exercise initiative, set priorities, work independently and as part of a team, handle confidential matters with discretion and sensitivity, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.  Previous Business Process Analysis and system implementation a plus.  The position reports to the Director of Student Business Services.
