Stefanie H. Jackman, is a litigator within Ballard Spahr’s Consumer Financial Services, Mortgage Banking, and Commercial Litigation groups. She also is a member of the firm's Fair Lending Task Force and Collection Documentation Task Force. Ms. Jackman's practice focuses primarily on complex litigation in the area of consumer financial services and financial institutions law. She regularly defends financial institutions in connection with lending-related litigation, arbitration, commercial law, and class action defense. She handles litigation issues arising under an array of consumer financial laws, including state UDAAP statutes, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, Truth in Lending Act, and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. Ms. Jackman also regularly represents clients in connection with responding to enforcement actions and investigations brought by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other governmental regulators. She currently involved in defending members of the consumer financial service industry in more than a dozen active CFPB enforcement investigations.
